Shake Motion
When you latch onto the Id, it alternates between two states. When the Id is orange and moving, shake the controller rapidly up and down to fill the bar. When the Id is white and stationary, stop shaking the controller and hold it still or the bar will decrease. Once the bar is full, you will absorb the Id, since you are already flicking the controller up and down.
